Case Study–Long Term Depression

DawnI can relate because abuse produces depression. The reason is due to the fact that one must shut down one’s essential self. The body reacts with depression, at the least.  I hope you will learn from this case study and it will help the lovely lady who provided it. I will call her Dawn. When I do charts, I start where I am called and go forward from there. I build a 3D person from the  charts. I do it in a step by step way. I do one chart at a time and I meditate on it during the course of the day and get insights. A professional chart takes me 3-5 days. This case study will not have the depth of a professional chart but I hope that it helps Dawn and other people. Charts, always, help me!

Let’s begin. The Sun in the 12th house strikes me first. The 12th House Sun finds it very hard to shine. We, each, need to shine. That is why it is so important to find a sport or activity for a child.  One’s self esteem derives from  a sense that one has gifts and one has something of value to offer others. I say this to say that the 12th House Sun has a very hard time shining. I think we all do. I am taking singing and guitar lessons. My teacher tells me to sing loud and proud but I want to hide under the chair lol  I bring this up to say that the 12th House Sun has the natural tendency to  hide under the chair.

The Sun has quite a bit of activity. The Sun represents one’s own ego, one’s masculine side and one’s relationship with the father. Dawn has a lovely trine to Mars which shows that she is a natural go getter. This trine will help her communicate. It will help to mitigate the effects of the 12th House Sun. She will be more assertive than the typical 12th house Sun. This trine is a pure gift, as are all trines. Trines are pure gifts from God, unearned and effortless for the native.

Dawn has a Sun aspect which I consider classic in mental problems. It is Sun square Uranus. Uranus is a wild card planet. In the easy trine, it functions like a person who is “out of the box” but not TOO out of the box. We all know those people who can get away with anything because they are so darn cute in their eccentricities. This is the trine but the square is another story. The Uranus square or opposition is painful. Have you ever told a joke that bombed in a crowd of people. We, all, have. Have you ever put your emotions on the line, only to have someone shun them and then you have to backtrack like crazy? We all have.  Uranus in square or opposition is like this. The person’s quirks just don’t seem to work. The person who is effected the most is the native. I am not saying Dawn is a weirdo, anymore than I am saying *I* am a weirdo. We all are weirdos. It just matters how you use it.

The person with the Uranus square to the Sun or Mercury has a kind of perpetual buzz and not of a good kind. He kind of lives with a low level feeling of electricity running through his wires at too strong of a pace. Have you ever had a hum in your room from an electrical device which should not be humming? Have you ever had a ringing in your eyes that will not go away. I think we, all, have, and this is how Uranus feels in squares or oppositions to the Sun or Mercury. We have not gotten to Mercury yet, in this study, but we will because it is the planet of the mind.

The Sun trines Pluto, so we have a very perceptive person.

The Sun opposes Saturn at 8 degrees which is wide but ambient. I have a 7 degree Moon/Saturn trine and I can very much feel it. When my mind starts getting very high strung, which it does due to a Gemini stellium and an earth void, I can feel the grounding of that Saturn. In this case, Dawn does not have a grounding as much as a strong self doubting aspect. Saturn in square or opposition to the Sun or Moon is a low self esteem aspect because it makes the native doubt herself. This doubt can be very painful.

We will study more of Saturn later but now we will continue on with the Sun. The Sun has a lovely 9 degree  conjunction with Mercury which  confers intelligence. This aspect helps one detach, as well, because it confers logic. The Sun conjunction Mercury is a gift. The Sun combust Mercury is  a curse, in my opinion. The combust is an exact to 5 degree conjunction. This is one of the main aspects for mental illness because the Sun burns up the mind, literally. In practical terms, the person is too attached to himself. He cannot see others as separate entities. He thinks everything revolves around him. This causes a great deal of distress, which is not his fault.
