I love requests. Keep them coming
This article will talk about one of my favorite parts of Astrology and that is the Nodes. The Nodes show PURPOSE. Inherent in the concept of purpose is struggle. Attaining the goals of the North Node will involve going into the realm of that which is unfamiliar. Conversely, the South Node is that with which we are comfortable. Hence, when we study the Nodes, we see both that to which we aspire and that to which we have attained.
Each Nodal Axis has the South Node on one side and the North Node on the other. These are, always, in direct opposition. Hence, if one’s SN is 8 Gemini, ones NN will be 8 Sagittarius. In the same manner, the Houses will be opposite. If ones SN is in the 9th House, one’s NN will be in the 3rd House. Opposite signs have opposite purposes. Opposite houses have opposite purposes. Hence, one finds a mini biography of oneself in the Nodal Axis. Let’s give some examples.
SN in Aries in the 1st House, NN in Libra in the 7th House
The SN tells us the domains in which we have comfort and with which we are familiar. Think of your old bathrobe or ratty T shirt. These are your comfort clothes. They do not bind you as that tight dress. They do challenge you to walk in spike heels. They help you return to your most comfortable state. We all need that and that is why I love the SN. You will excel in the House and sign of the SN, if there are not other strong factors to the contrary.
Conversely, when we get to the NN, this is aspirational. This will be like driving a new car for the first time. The new one has bells and whistles you could have only imagined. When I went car shopping, I went into the BMW store. I sat behind the wheel of the car and felt I was in a cockpit. It was too aspirational for me. I like the old man’s car–the Crown Vic. This is the detective’s car, if you don’t know. It is like driving from the comfort of your sofa, perfect for a Cancer Moon. However, I digress, as usual. The point is that the Nodal Axis shows us both our comfort zone and our aspirational zone. This is a simplified explanation. I can do another article with the specific placements for you, if you would like.
