Organic White Tea–This provides natural flouride to your teeth. It does not stay as does green and black tea.

Salads with every color on them–put as many of the colors that you can on your salad. Beets, tomatoes  and red onions give red. Yellow squash gives yellow. Carrots give orange. Purple cabbage gives purple. If you think color, you will get most of your nutrients.

My life is my laboratory and I am the mad doctor   I had a fascinating conversation with a very sexy guy, yesterday. I could feel that Scorpio under the surface like one might see a bit of lace peek out from under a skirt( Don’t you love my analogies?) Well, I  thought it was Mars in Scorpio but it did not feel exactly right like I took out the cake a bit too soon and it was half pudding.  I was  puzzled because I felt that he had Mars in Scorpio but it just did not fit.

I do what I always do. I wheedled his birth information from him. I went to the nearest computer and found my answer. He had Venus in Scorpio. Hmmm, I thought. I had my working theory. Venus in Scorpio will have Mars in Scorpio vibes but will not have the aggression/assertion to act on them.

Venus is a yin planet. That means it is a feminine planet. Mars is a yang planet. That means it is a masculine or active planet( as it is called in Chinese terminology) Hence, when one feels those sexy Scorpio vibes without the  assertion and drive of Mars, the Venus will be in Scorpio.

Just an added aside. When a man has both Mars and Venus in Scorpio, it seems to make him kind of frozen. I know I am going to get all sorts of hate mail from my friends with this placement. I will try to explain. I do not mean frozen in the sense of no passion. They have TONS of passion. I mean frozen in the sense of  inaction. They seem almost as if they have too much Scorpio. Hence, they seem to be like a car which is in the mud. It grinds it’s wheels but does not go anywhere.

I hope I am explaining that well. I feel I am not but will leave it for the moment, in hopes that some men with both Mars and Venus in Scorpio will come to  bail me out.

I must look at  50 charts a week.  I have to see a pattern long enough to formulate a working theory on it. My theories are based on the experience of my clients, my Forum members or the people at Linda-Goodman.com. I have been seeing the same pattern over and over for planets( or asteroids) conjunct the DSC. It is a unique kind of struggle. It is a unique kind of pain.

When planets( or asteroids) conjunct the ASC, we have a mixed bag. Some are beneficial. Some make for a hard struggle. Most people would want Eros conjunct the ASC. That makes the native erotic. Most people would want Lilith conjunct the ASC. That gives the native a raw sexuality. Most people would want Sappho conjunct the ASC. That bestows the native with an erotic vibe mixed with refinement such as a Jackie O.

The Moon conjunct the ASC gives an emotional openness, which is very pleasing. This is supposed to confer good looks, too. Pluto conjunct the ASC gives personal power and an air of authority. Jupiter conjunct the ASC gives charisma.The Sun conjunct the ASC gives confidence. Venus conjunct the ASC gives beauty and grace. Mars conjunct the ASC gives assertiveness. Hence, we see the blessings inherent.

When we talk about the ASC in this way, we could say the same for  the MC. The difference is that the MC is  related more to the wider society and career. The ASC  is related  more to your daily life.  The ASC is more personal. The MC is more global. Other than that,  you can interchange what I say for one,  to the other.

I can talk from personal experience about a Moon placement conjunct the MC. I have Cancer Moon conjunct the MC, exact. I am very open about myself on my website.  This would be a career issue or a societal issue, as it is not my personal life, per se. My personal life would be the ASC.

I have Moon square the ASC( 3 degrees). It is harder to be as open in my daily life as I am on here.  The square makes it such.  That is simply the Angle placement. (The Angles are the ASC, IC, DSC and MC) So, one should check the ASC  and the  MC and know that one  is going to SEE the planets or asteroids which conjunct these angles.

I have given a few examples of beneficial planet placements conjunct the ASC and MC. It can be very hard when a hard planet or asteroid conjuncts these angles. I will give an example.  Chiron conjunct the ASC is the single hardest place to have Chiron.The second hardest place would be conjunct the MC.Chiron conj the ASC seems to indicate severe bullying in almost all cases. Chiron conj the MC seems to be pain for all to see. How sad. One of my friends with Chiron conjunct the MC was severely obese. This would be a classic example of the world seeing one’s pain.

Lets talk about some hard planets and asteroids conjunct the ASC. Saturn conj the ASC is a hard childhood. The childhood is filled with deprivations. The child must grow up early. This position may give teeth or bone problems, as well.

Neptune conjunct the ASC is another kind of hard. This makes one feel a loss of identity. One may feel as if one is a ghost, with the wind blowing through  where a solid ego should be. These natives are very attractive in an ethereal way. The, often, have beautiful eyes, too.

If we want to continue to  talk about hard asteroids, we could start with Nessus. This would be the asteroid of the abuser. We could point to Dejanira. This is the asteroid of the victim. We could look at the fixed star Algol, which could be called the “serial killers’ fixed star. Are all people with Algol conjunct the ASC serial killers?  No, but I would say that all people with this placement will be plagued with evil thoughts, as if there is a Twighlight  Zone episode playing in their heads

Sedna conjunct the ASC will show betrayal by the father and later other men. Medusa will show betrayal by women due to Medusa’s vanity. She will want to exact revenge on men. Echo conjunct the ASC would be a person who feels voiceless. You can transfer all of these to the MC with a very similar interpretation, as I said earlier.

Now, let’s get to the subject of our article, which is the DSC.  (My  Mercury Retro makes me build a brick by brick foundation for everything. It is how Mercury Retro thinks.) Hence, we have talked  about the ASC and MC. We will skip the IC for this article and go right to the DSC.

The DSC is the cusp of the 7th house. The 7th house is the first House that brings in a partner in a serious way. The 5th House would be dating, The 7th House is when you make a serious commitment to someone outside of yourself. Hence, the DSC is unique in this. Herein, lies our problem. It is the struggle between the self and the other. This is every man’s struggle. However, the person with planets conjunct the DSC finds it VERY, VERY hard. For the native with many planets conjunct the DSC, this is probably one of the hardest issues of his life. Hence, lets talk about some specific planets and asteroids conjunct the DSC and what they mean.

Lets start with some planets. If one has the Moon conj the DSC, one may look for deep emotions in the partner but not be able to access one’s own. If one has the Sun conjunct the DSC, one may look for one’s identity in the partner. This could be called a classic co-dependent aspect, if we want to put a modern term to it. If one has Mars conjunct the DSC, one may look to his partner to do his dirty work. If one has Pluto conjunct the DSC, one may not be able to access one’s own primal passions but look for the partner to give them to him. If one has Jupiter here, one may look to the partner to bring joy and a sense of well being. If one has Saturn here, one may look to the partner to be a parental figure. If one has Neptune here, one may look to the partner to provide spirituality.

Let’s look at a few asteroids conjunct the DSC. If one has Nessus here, one may deny one’s own abusive traits but find them in an abusive partner. This would be called ‘reaction formation” to use a Psych term. It is a strange defense mechanism. I remember thinking it was so weird when I first studied it. I thought, “whaaaaaa????” However, I started to try to see it in real life. I did and I will try to explain it to you. It exactly fits into the angst of the person with planets conjunct the DSC, which is the subject of this article.

I will give an easy example and one we have all seen in daily life. Have you ever seen a person who was SO adamant about a topic and later turned out to have the issue or problem. There is the classic example of the Christian pastor who condemns homosexuals with a ferocity. He is later found out to be gay. There is the man who condemns pornography in the same way. He is found to be addicted to pornography. These are clear examples of reaction formation but there are more subtle examples that we all encounter.

I seem to run into the same person over and over. She is usually a woman who acts perfect, not a flaw and not a stain. However, inside she is the Wicked Witch of the West. This would be reaction formation because this kind of person denies ANY evil impulses but sees them in others. We, each, probably have a certain type of person who plagues us. We probably have our own form of reaction formation, too. God put the defense mechanisms in people  so people would not die. They are there to absorb pain.

Back to the DSC,  planets on the DSC are disowned by the person and sought in the partner. That is what brought me to the topic of reaction formation. You can take any planet or asteroid and see how it will effect the person by remembering about Reaction Formation. It may not be as severe as this but it will help you to remember the struggle and the angst of planets conjunct the DSC.

Do I have the best titles or what? I don’t think I have ever brought up a topic to which someone cannot relate. I bring up things which trouble me.  I bring up things which lay heavy on my heart. In doing so, I lay down a burden. Others seem to lay down a burden, too.

I wonder about this phenomenon. I wonder in what it has it’s roots. Everything has a root. We may not know the root but it is there.

What is the root to loving someone who treats you like dirt?

This article will be an amalgamation of charts,  my own experiences, the experiences of friends and the experiences of clients. It may be kind of wooly but things are that way, sometimes, especially when they are  matters of the heart.

Chart wise, it would be Nessus/Deja. Someone told me that Nessus was turned into fire,  at some point in the myth. The myths have the main characters doing most everything, so I am sure it was true. I did not check it out but the tears one cries over a Nessus relationship feel like actual fire, so it seems to fit.

If one feels the yearning of Healthcliff running through the moors screaming the name of Kathy, it is a Nessus relationship.  The Nessus relationship embodies what ET yearned for when he pointed his finger to the sky–HOME.  The Nessus relationship promises home. Even if that promise is as flimsy as cotton candy. We want to shed our constraints and taste it, for once.

In doing so, we hope to shed our old live in the hope of a new ones. However, it it is a Nessus relationship. The shiny ball will turn dull, as dull as the darkest dirt, as dull as the darkest moment.

The Nessus relationship lives in the promise. In that promise, we can transcend. That  is the root of the promise. We can have another chance as if we were born anew,   but this is not baptism. It is the hope of it and that is quite different.

With this kind of hope, it is all you have and when it fades you are like the Little Match Girl, my favorite story. I can never tell it without crying. I will cry now, if I tell it again.

It is the story of being on the outside looking in. It is the story of yearning so much that you could die. It is the hope that all you yearn for could come true. It is the death of that hope. All this summarizes the Nessus relationship. I did not know it until I wrote it. Then, I knew it was true.

The degree to which an Astrologer can made a 3D person from a 2D chart, is the degree of skill of that Astrologer. I am a humble student of four years. My ongoing goal is to make the chart become alive as in the wooden  Pinocchio becoming a real boy. Each chart is the blueprint of that person. No blueprint is exactly the same, even with twins born seconds apart. Behind the blueprint is God. Our charts are our design. Our charts were preordained, I think. If the chart is the blueprint of the person, one best pay great attention to it.The single hardest part of Astrology is taking all the parts and creating one unique masterpiece., which is you. Let’s see if we can hone this down to some working parts.

We need to start with the thrust of each planet. By thrust, I mean the essence. We will try to hone each planet down to it’s essence and see where that takes us.(My articles write themselves  )

First we will look at the most powerful planet. That is the Sun. The Sun is the you that best defines you, all around, if you could only pick one planet. The Sun is called the essential ego. The Sun is called the essential identity. It is you in it’s purest sense, if we only had to choose one planet. This is why one can pick out Sun Signs the easiest. Think of the solar system of one single person. His Sun is the center. Hence, get your Sun Sign Book out and study, study, study the Sun signs.

The Moon is one’s essential heart. The ego and the heart are two different parts of a person. The ego is the big Papa bear. The heart is the little baby bear, sweet and innocent. One’s Moon is essentially innocent. It is one’s inner child, if we want to make it simple and understandable. Look to the signs again. This time, think of how each one would be,  not as the ego, but as the heart. If you do the two above steps, you will have come a long way to understand charts.

Now, we will go onto Mercury. Mercury is your mind. From your mind comes how you communicate. Once again, go to the signs and ponder who the mind would be under the influence of each sign. A mind in Pisces would be right brained, full of imagination and fantasy. A mind in Virgo would be left brained, perfect for an accountant.  A mind in Gemini would be full of wit. A mind in Scorpio may have sex on it’s brain all day( I told you I would be honest. Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful). A mind in Saggi may have adventure on his mind, as well as any shapely legs that pass his way. A mind in Capricorn would have career and social status on his mind. A mind in Aquarius would be thinking of far away places while not feeling connected to loved ones here ( Sorry, my aqua bias strikes again) I hope you get the idea of how Mercury would work throughout the signs.

Next we have Venus, my second favorite planet. Venus is the planet of love. It is not the planet of sex, as some think. It is the planet that shows WHAT we think is beautiful. This is very different. Venus is not passion, per se. It is aesthetics. Does passion grow out of this? YES, because one is attracted to what one finds beautiful. However, to understand Venus, we need to think of pure love. From a heart of pure love comes what we think is beautiful. This can be a type of person, a type of animal( Have you ever wondered about people’s choices in dogs?), a type of car( again I wonder about this, too, particularly for the people who could have any car they wanted), a style of home, a style of clothing, the kind of  movies one likes, the kind of books one likes and the kind of music and art. That is a lot for one little planet.  However, each planet rules one major part of the person. Knowing this will help you separate parts of the chart, in order to later put them together.

As I seek to deepen my understanding of Astrology, I seem to have a red flag waving at me. The red flag is  about contradictions in the natal chart. Just today, someone showed me a chart with great strength of personality and great dissolution of personality.  She said, “WHO am I What do I do?”

That is a good question and the topic of this article. I have a client who has much of the same issue, so I can see it up close In her case, she has great power of personality but a strong sense that she can never be good enough. This is another kind of contradiction We all have these issues to one degree or another, so it is an important topic for all of us.

It is always best to start with oneself because one knows oneself up close and personal. I think it is very hard to put together all the pieces of oneself. One may be sweet as pie and  nasty as sin. One may have the soothing touch of a gentle lover and the tongue of a viper.  One my be beautiful in face and body, but ugly in heart. One may be ugly in face and body but beautiful in heart. A person is very complicated but I agree with Jung. The unexamined life is not worth living. I have the Jung Asteroid conjunct my Sun.

Back to the subject of this article and some examples. What prompted me to write this article was someone I knew with an exact conjunction of Pluto and Venus in Scorpio  in the 8th House and a Pisces Moon. I did not know Astrology, at the time, or I could have helped him.  One could not see how sensitive he was. He had a Capricorn Mars, so was a go getter. He excelled at most everything. Little did I know about the time bomb ticking. The time bomb was the Pluto conj Venus in Scorpio in the 8th house.

He met a girl who used him while her boyfriend went abroad. He was totally in love with this girl. She used him like a toy. Girls do this when they are young. Boys do, too. It is part of youth, most likely. However, for him, it was not something he could shrug off and he killed himself. I think one could have helped if one could have realized the DEGREE of sensitivity of a Pisces Moon, particularly when it is juxtaposed to the nuclear intensity of a Scorpio Pluto conjunct Venus( exact) in the 8th House.

The above would be an example of a severe imbalance in the chart. Some people have this to more of an extent. Some people have this to a lesser extent but we all have it to some extent. Let me give some other examples. The girl who asked me the question in the first paragraph is both very strong and has a weak sense of self. This would be another hard contradiction. It is not an unusual one, though. I see this quite often. The profile is of a strong first house Pluto and an contradictory aspect for self doubt and personal powerlessness elsewhere. Let’s explore this.

If one has a first house Pluto, one will have a powerful presence. One will appear to be a leader. One will not be shoved to the back of the bus. One will not be bullied. One will command respect. I call this the “cop walking up to your car to give you a ticket” aspect. The cop strides up with all the authority he can muster. He has you and he knows it. HE is the leader. You are the supplicant. Picture this when you see a first house Pluto. So, to apply this to real life, the first house Pluto could be a teacher, a cop or a parent. You are going to listen to this person. You are going to have a primal respect for this person.

That is all well and good if it stopped there. However, the complications of human nature do not allow that. Let’s say that our person above has an exact Sun Neptune conjunction. This is a dissolution of personality. This is one of the hardest aspects to have in the chart. The person cannot help that his sense of self is diffuse. It is his nature. The pain of this can push many people into addictions. This is the classic aspect for the alcoholic or drug addict. This person will, also, be very creative. He will search for spiritual answers for his life. All these things go together. Neptune rules them all. In the above case, one does not want Neptune too close to the Sun in a conjunction. The Sun is strength of purpose. Neptune is dissolution of what it touches. This is not good at all, when you come down to it. I hope you understand my point.

To get back to the subject of our article, the person with these two aspects would be a walking contradiction. He would appear powerful and full of ego, in a positive way. However, inside he would not know who he was. The Pluto in the first house combined with the Sun conjunct Neptune makes both of them harder. The polarity which is set up is very, very hard.  That is the subject of this article. How to deal with things like this. Lets look at a few more.

Let’s say the person has Pluto in the  first house and Venus conjunct Saturn conjunct the MC. One of my dear clients has this. She is a powerful professional. One will listen to her when she speaks. She commands respect. This would be the Pluto in the first house. However, both  Saturn and Venus  in Gemini conjunct the MC add a new wrinkle.Venus conjunct the MC shows that part of her life purpose is to bring beauty to the world. She is a very gifted writer. One would expect that with Venus in Gemini. However, Saturn comes in as the baddie and douses the situation with self doubt. Saturn conjunct the MC is a person who feels she has to be perfect to have a place in society. She feels she has to be perfect to show her Venus. All this is true. She should strut her stuff with all of her talent but she doesn’t. She is pulled back by the Saturn sitting on the top of her chart telling her,  “You can’t do it perfectly, so don’t try”

There are many kinds of contradictions. Some are more polarized than others. I will give a few more examples. Then, I would like to hear yours. One man has a Libra Sun and Mars in the 8th House. He has an Aqua ASC and a Cap Moon. I know him well, so can see the contradictions. I think you have to know someone well to see these things. Later, you can apply them to charts when you don’t know the people. This is the ultimate goal. With this man, he will talk about high Aqua ideals. However, his Cap Moon will make him choose the mercenary position. In other words, he talks a good game. The Libra Sun  and Mars are in the Fall positions. Hence, they are inherently weak. However, the 8th House makes them deep. He does have some of the insight and depth of a Scorpio. However, the Libra placements make him doubt himself. This would be his biggest struggle along with the Aqua ASC, which would tell him to take the high road and the Cap Moon, which would tell him to “screw others and take his“.

As I am able to face my own contradictions, I can see them in others. Facing oneself is the hardest thing. Astrology will help you to do that. As Shakespeare said, “If one is true to himself, he will not be a liar to another”. Here’s to truth!

I enroll many of my clients in my unofficial Venus in Gemini School For Man Chasing. I am a  natural. What can I say? We all have different gifts    I grew up under the wise tutelage of a Venus in Gemini grandmother. Most everything of value I learned, I learned from her. She had amazing common sense. One thing that is missing in this era of displaced families is the wisdom of the older generations. I have a son in his 20′s, so I am of an older generation than many young people I deal with. The young women seemed to have lost their way.

I cringe when I see how little they value themselves. I cringe when they throw themselves at men. I cringe when they don’t act like ladies. My grandmother was a true lady. She carried herself with grace and dignity. I was a crazy acting Gemini kid. She would always say, “Ami, WHEN are you going to be a lady?” She was right.  All men value a lady. I don’t care if they protest to kingdom come. Don’t believe it. It is in their genes. Men want what a lady represents. ALL men do.

I will try to outline what  being a lady means, to me. The one cardinal rule, if I could pick one, is to never, ever, ever chase a man. If a man does not chase you, let him go. If you chase him, you will never get him. If you do get him, by some fluke, he will not be happy with you. He will feel that he lost out, somehow. He will not feel that he won the prize. He will feel like the prize came cheaply and he will not value it, long term.

I know I am going to get the most hate mail for this article. You know that certain things are going to send people into orbit and this is one.I have a vow to be honest. I have this commitment in my professional readings and in my articles. I try to make this commitment in my life because it is the only way to live a life that is worth anything. It is not an easy bar to strive for, but I do.

Back to the subject and not covering my backside against tomato throwing    I have had a lot of experience in my own life and in the lives of people I have seen. I am a logical person and I try to learn from the lessons that present themselves. I have never seen a relationship that was happy when the woman chased the man. Most of them will not come to the point of an actual relationship. However, the ones that do seem as if they are missing a piece.

A man needs to slay dragons and climb mountains.. In this current day of political correctness , testosterone is considered taboo. Of course, woman still fall in love with the movie heroes who show machismo. You are not going to find a movie hero who is a meterosexual. You will find a meterosexual at your local health food store wearing Birkenstocks. You will find him at your local feminism rally. You will find him holding the pocketbook for his significant other while she is at the mall. However, you won’t find him cast as a hero.Women don’t think of him as a hero. Women think of him as a wuss

.  Men and women may think they are very different from men and women of old. They may look at Victorian novels as if they are silly vestiges of some past oppression. I am sure they are, in many ways. However, human nature remains the same, always and forever. The Book of Ecclesiastes says that there is nothing new under the sun. There isn’t. This goes for the women who want to chase men and make it work, once and for all.

Lets look at how Venus interacts with Mars. They are what you would look at if you wanted a relationship. It is what you would look at if you wanted to spy into the life of that cute guy on whom you have your eye. Hence, I think it will be a worthwhile study.

Lets take a Venus and pair it with a few Mars signs. Venus in Pisces is the most romantic Venus. It, probably, writes poetry. If not, it reads it. It is the most sensitive Venus. Venus in Pisces is in the Exaltation, so it is a lovely spot. This Venus is not a he man Venus. This Venus would be gossamer lace. This Venus would be a Chopin Etude.  This Venus would be crepes with a dust of sugar.

Lets add a few Mars signs to see what we get. I will start with my favorite Mars( are you sick of me, yet ). Lets see how a man with Mars in Scorpio and Venus in Pisces would act. The Mars in Scorpio would make him a pro at going after what he wants. He is the sleek tiger in the jungle or the gorgeous, wind blown guy in the jag.

When you met him, you would see his Mars shining out from behind the dashboard. You may think he was just a stud, through and through. However, you would be wrong and you could know this by checking his Venus sign. A-ha. You really have Mr Sensitive under  that Ralph Lauren Polo cologne.  This man would take you for a ride in his jag to the nearest beach. He may pack his own picnic and read you poetry, as you rested your head in his lap.

This is like Mr Potato head! Now, lets try another Mars. Let’s try Mars in Cancer. A Mars in Cancer guy would not be aggressive. He would probably try to ask you out, sideways. He may hem and haw. He may call your best friend and ask  her if you were interested. If I put Mars in Scorpio in a jag, I put Mars in Cancer in a grandpa sedan. I had one of these. It was a a Crown Vic. It rode like you were sitting on your living room  couch. It had visibility so good that you could see an ant  twenty miles ahead. It was a perfect Mars in Cancer car, slow, reliable but not  too sexy. In our example, the Mars in Cancer man would not surprise you if he had a Venus in Pisces. You would expect him to be sensitive. He appears sensitive, from outward appearances. Hence, this combo is not a glaring difference. You would get what you see.

Let’s take a new Venus, for a shift. Let’s take a Venus in Scorpio. Venus in Scorpio is pure TNT. If there is a nuclear power plant of a Venus, it is he. I did the article on Venus in Scorpio paired with Mars in Scorpio. Venus in Scorpio seems to trump the aggression of Mars in Scorpio and makes for a  frozen situation. This is counter intuitive. I did not write about it until I saw many. Then, I figured that there was a pattern which was worth noting.

Keeping that in mind, if Venus in Scorpio trumps the ace Mars in Scorpio, I believe it will trump any Mars. Hence, my theory would be that the Venus in Scorpio would rule the person when it came to love. I bet that an aggressive Mars such as Scorpio, Aries or Capricorn could make this man a go getter in the corporate world. However, when it came to amour, he would tend to freeze. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we each have struggles, albeit different ones.

Let’s go to a new group of Venus’–Gemini and Saggi. They are both mutable. Mutable can be good or bad or good and bad. Let’s hone this down. Venus in Gemini is a flirt. Venus in Saggi is a serial romancer. These are light weight Venus’. They are fun. They are light. They are feel good but they can be fly night, here today and gone tomorrow. Let’s pair them with some Mars signs.Let’s put  Venus in Gemini with Mars in Scorpio. Here, you would have a guy who chased and was a terrible flirt. Would he stay or go? I guess we have gone beyond our subject with this one because we would have to look at other factors for stability. This combo would be potent, though. I can say that. Mars in Scorpio and Venus in Saggi would be a similar situation to the above. He could chase like no one’s business but would he stay?  That is the million dollar question.

I hope you are having fun. I am . Let’s take a new Mars. Let’s take Pisces. Pisces mars is known for having little ambition. This Mars would be in the same category of Cancer Mars—a non go getter. Let’s give him a Cancer Venus. He would be very romantic. He would love all things homey and domestic. He may be the right guy for a house husband.

Lets go to a new scenario. Lets take an Aries Venus with a Cancer Mars. This guy would make my grandpa sedan look like a race car. The Venus in Aries guy won’t chase The Mars in Cancer won’t chase without a light under his derriere. This man needs a woman with Venus in Aries, who will chase. Remember, that the Venus in Aries reveres polarity in men and woman. The woman chase and the men need to be chased.

Shall we do a few more before I ask for your comments? Let’s take a Taurus Venus and an Aries Mars. The Aries Mars would go after what he wanted. With a Taurus Venus, he would be attracted to the simple pleasures in life like a home cooked meal and a comfy work shirt.  Heck, he should be a farmer.

I will say something you won’t like. Many times, the shrewdest person cannot see through a predator. I had an employee who turned out to be a sociopath. I could never have seen it coming, not in a million years.She was the most genuine appearing person. I am very perceptive but she gave no clue. In these cases, you need God to show you. He will. God knows what is behind the surface of things. Even with her, there were signs but they were not huge red flags. She was being sued  for defamation or slander. She said the other person was a nut. In time, she treated a family member badly. She extorted and lied. However, without these signs, I would never have known.

The take away is that if a sociopath is that good, you can’t know, unless by Divine intervention. I had another situation where Divine Intervention saved me. This time, I had signs but I did not heed them. I was too innocent and too vulnerable. God swooped down and simply prevented me from wreckage. I think of what could have happened to me and I cringe. I am one fortunate person. God loves us so much. That should be another take away lesson.

Lets say that the sociopath is not that good,  unlike the girl above, then you can protect yourself with certain methods. I will share them, here.

1. Trust your gut

In most cases, something will not ring true. Something will trigger your inner alarm bell. Most of the time, people will say that they knew something was not right, but they would not listen.

2. Realize that what seems too good to be true is.

This is a tough one because we all want fairy tales to be true. That is why they are so beloved. However, they are not, in most cases. You see, I still hold out hope   \  I think God can make your dreams come true. However, you have to commit your life to Him. You have to be close enough to Him to figure out what is His will and what are your desires. If you can do this, you should be safe 99% of the time.

3. Know your own weaknesses

Know where you need extra love and attention. A predator will figure this out fast. They have a lightening radar for vulnerability. They will know you better than you know yourself. This is one of the main ways that they take advantage of you.  If you need lots of TLC, they will give it. If you need lots of ego stroking, they will give it. If you need lots of reassurance, they will give it. They will become your dream lover. Most everyone who is fooled by a predator says that this person was the person of their dreams. That is because a predator can figure out your dreams and give them to you. In time, they will become your worst nightmare. Many women were lucky to escape with their lives, having lost much of their property and wealth.

4. Love yourself with flaws

When we hate ourselves, we can be sweet talked much easier. We can be manipulated by both praise and criticism. No one will get perfect in this but we can try to love ourselves, warts and alls.

5. Have a relationship with God where He can speak into your life

If  you are heading for trouble, God will give you signs. If doors keep closing, don’t push through them. I have never seen a case of this work out well. There is a Divine Force guiding us. He will show us the way. We can hear, if we listen. This point is the best one for avoiding trouble. Learn to hear God’s voice. Distinguish it from your own. Distinguish it from the voice of other people. This pursuit will be well worth the effort. It may just the the life preserver you need when the waters seek to overwhelm you.

We have the infamous Venus in Scorpio which seems to trump the Mars, when it comes to love. What I mean, in a practical sense, is that this native may feel frozen when she wants to go after a guy. She will have a great deal of passion, as that is the nature of Venus in Scorpio. However, even the most assertive Mars sign, such as Scorpio, seem to freeze under the intensity of this Venus. In matters of career and other areas of assertion, this Venus does not seem to come into play. Then, the Mars will act according to it’s nature. So, I would say that this combo may make a person freeze when it comes to being assertive in love matters. However, in other matters, this combo could set goals and work slowly and steadily to attain them.

Alyssa– Mars and Venus in Libra

This is an interesting one because Mars is in it’s Detriment and Venus is in it’s Domicile. The one thing I will say for Venus in Libra is that she is REFINED. This does not go well with my Venus in Gemini, which is always up for a laugh, even at the most inappropriate times. What can I say? I am honest   Venus in Libra is naturally gracious, naturally considerate and has a effortless refinement. She does not like coarse jokes( or anything coarse) This Venus may not be uber sexual. I am not sure about that. It seems to be the case in some I have seen, but I would need to ask the people with this placement.

As far as the combo, Mars in Libra can’t decide things easily. This is a very wavering Mars. Most likely, any decision would have a strong wavering about it. Hence, this indecision to the personality would be one of it’s biggest struggles. Any planet in the Detriment or Fall comes under the category of a struggle for the person, in my opinion.

To make this combo practical,  the native would have a great deal of trouble making the decision to choose a partner and all the various decisions that go with love. However, she would be so refined and gorgeous about it, that one would excuse it!

Bonnie– Venus and Mars in Pisces

This native would be very romantic. She would have a gentle spirit. She would be kind. She would feel the suffering of others. The  struggle for this person would be with goals. She is not a hard, aggressive person as many jobs demand. She is not that goal oriented, as many careers demand. Her forte would be in more of a laid back setting where she could nurture. She would be best in a setting that dealt with the hearts and souls of people  such as counseling. OK, Kevin, I will take you out of grandpa’s sedan. A Venus in Scorpio does not belong in an old man car. I will say that I think you would be frozen when it comes to love though. I will take you out of the old man car but I still feel that goals and assertion of any nature would be hard. You may put your emotions into your stomach, as well. I see many requests to learn how to make Dejanira practical. I am so direct because so many Astrology websites are a dense chicken soup. They talk and talk but make no practical sense. This is worse with asteroids. My goal is to make each asteroid such that one can plug it into one’s chart and come away with practical information. Let’s see if we can do that with Dejanira.

First of all, one does not want Dejanira touching pivotal parts of the chart. If it does, you can be sure that that person has been through a world of pain. The closeness of the orb is key. An exact conjunction is nuclear level worse than a 2-3 degree conjunction. This is a general rule with all asteroids.

Pivotal parts would be the Sun, Moon, ASC, DSC, IC, MC,  North Node,Mercury, Venus or Mars.  In this list, some would be worse than others. The hardest place for Dejanira to touch is the Moon. I cringe when I see this, literally. I have only seen it in the charts of females. That does not mean it is only in the charts of female. That has just been my experience.

Dejanira conjunct the Moon fractures the person. Think of literal glass breaking. This woman has a world of hurt such that she could scream and never stop like that famous painting, “The Scream”.  This position is, usually severe abuse. It is often sexual abuse.The Moon is one’s most sensitive point. It is one’s innocent child’s heart. We, all, have one. Anything that touches your Moon touches you the deepest.

If I had to think of the second hardest placement for Dejanira, I would put Deja conjunct the North Node. This is because the NN is one’s purpose in life. It is what one is supposed to master. If one has to master Dejanira, one will  have to live it.

Dejanira is the victim with no voice. Dejanira has given up to such a degree that she lies down and is raped. She does not protest. She does not try to defend herself. Her level of surrender is to the point of soul surrender. This is terribly sad. You can see Dejanira in the faces of abused children. It is an asteroid you don’t want to deal with, but we don’t choose our charts.

Dejanira conjunct Venus would make a person victimized in love. This person may be successful and competent when it comes to career. Many women are successful in their careers but victims in their love lives. One friend made a huge decorating business, from nothing.  She became a huge success, such that she was considered for huge level projects such as airports and sports stadiums. However, when it came to love, she was victimized. We have  all seen this kind of thing. I would bet that many of these people have Deja conjunct Venus. If you have any information on this, please put it on my Comment Form.

If one has Dejanira conjunct Mars, I am not quite sure to make of this. I know that Deja conj Pluto KEEPS someone from being a victim. I have it. I never let people bully me. Pluto is a strong planet and protects Deja. Hence, my guess is that Mars will do the same. I need your input on this.

Deja conjunct the DSC is another sad state of affairs. This person would look for a victim in the partner. Anything that conjuncts the DSC is what we look for in the partner.

Deja conjunct the Sun would, probably, make the person have the identity of a victim. This is not the person’s fault. No natal chart placement is the person’s fault. Only god knows why.  Deja conjunct the ASC may be worse than Deja conjunct the Sun. The Sun could give some level of protection to Deja because the Sun is a strong, yang planet.

Deja conjunct the ASC would be a very vulnerable position. This may be the third hardest Deja position after the Moon and the NN.

As you can see, I need your input. If you have searched the web for info on Deja, you have not found it. That is why I wrote this article. When I Google,  I see that people are asking this question. I hope that we can find the answers together.

The topic of intimacy is so daunting that I want to go back to bed. In my childhood home, nothing true could ever be said. I won’t say ever. I will say 90% of the time. I learned to live in books from a very young age. Books had people who were sane. My house had people who were hidden. I had within me a treasure. It was reality.  I carried it like a beggar would carry food,  gripped  in his hand, tightly.

I knew there was a cliff off which I could fall. It would be an ugly fall into places one would never want to go. When my mother would drive me to the city, I would pass a place like this, the mental hospital. Inside me was my treasure. If I lost it, those places could  come up from the pit and drag me in.

Inside me is a strong tree. It has roots that go deep. I would say that my grandmother planted it. She gave me unconditional love. I could not give anything back. I was a child and a brat, as Geminis can be. If we took a family picture, I would stick out my leg at the last minute. If my mother had a box of chocolates for company, I would stick my finger in the bottom of them to find the good ones and leave the others.

If there is nuclear power in this world, it is probably unconditional love. I still cry when I talk about my grandmother. My grandmother told it like it was, 90% of the time, but she never told it like it was about my mother. Once she did, in a way. It was a small statement but not anything compared to what it should have been.

I am trying to broach the topic of intimacy but it has to have a background.  I lost my treasure, as you might have guessed. I lost my reality to the point that I had to hang on so tightly that the food in my hand became pulverized. Then, it dripped through my fingers like a baby food mush.  Then, I dug my nails into my  hands until they were bloody.

The reality became a dot inside me, the size of a golf ball. It was very concentrated, as golf  balls are. I used to soak golf balls in vinegar, I think. I am trying to remember how I came to unravel a golf ball. It had an amazing interior with hundreds of elastic bands.

For me, my reality was held so tightly that I could not feel anymore.If I let go, I might come apart like a kaleidoscope where the colors explode such that you are mesmerized. I am trying to find my reality without it being a disaster such that an ambulances takes me away.

I came to believe in Jesus because I would have gone insane without it. One should try to come to Jesus in an easier way.  He does not want us to get to this point. He calls us gently. He called me gently for my whole life but I spurned Him like a lover who won’t go away, no matter how many times you tell him you are not interested.  I don’t know how I got into how I found Jesus.  I guess, I gave you a thumbnail of my background and I can go on with the topic.

The point of the above was that I lost my reality. You can’t have intimacy without a true reality. I started getting my reality back when I saw an uber feminist fall for an uber bad boy. All the feminism drivel fell from her mouth like water from a broken faucet, where it spouts out and you can’t stop it and you start to panic. Then, I started to see how drivel flows from people’s mouths so smoothly that it is like ice.

I started seeing how the “spiritual” people were the lowest and the most petty. I started to see how talk was cheap. My false reality started unraveling like the golf ball, but this time in the right direction. I actually believed these people. That is what happens when you cannot feel. You fall for anything. I don’t judge people who fell for some sort of a mush. It happens when you are lost. They don’t call it lost for no reason.

I did not get lost in one fell swoop. Before I did, I learned about intimacy.  I learned that you must have your own reality. Your reality can’t be fluid. It can’t be based on the reality of others. It has to come up from your own gut. Your gut can’t be frozen. It has to be how you perceive the world. That is the point of the above. I have been reminded by a reader how I went off topic. Some topics have to be broached from a different direction. One does not, always, need to be linear when getting from one point to the next.

If you want to take one point from the above, the point is that you must be able to feel reality for yourself. The minute you need to depend on others, you are in trouble. That trouble won’t go away on it’s own. It needs a steam shovel and a plow.

The pursuit of intimacy takes you into the pursuit of your own reality. That is the point. You can skip the rest and start here. Intimacy is like a dance but you can never lose your own footing. If you do, you go backwards from solid food into mush. You never should have been there, except for when you were a baby. The point is that you should have become more solid. Then, you could show yourself to another and it would not become a war game.

I suppose the underlying issue to the topic of intimacy is that we are alone, so very alone, so scarily alone, so deeply alone. Facing this is like looking into the abyss. We will do most anything not to look. That is, probably, from whence addictions arise. Isn’t it more fun to agonize over how many shoes to get at the sale at Macy’s than look into the abyss which will take you to places unknown.

I am reminded of the claw like grip of a girl on my hand when I was twelve. She was dying of a blood disease. It was one of the few times in my life I was mean. I am not mean and I don’t bully. It is the domain of cowards. This girl followed my best friend and I around like glue. We were in the girl’s bathroom and we told her we did not want to be her friend. I can see her face and feel her cold hand. That was the hand of someone a few steps from the abyss.  This gets me back to the topic of intimacy because  we seek intimacy to avoid facing these kinds of things. We think our beloved can hold back the door to the abyss with the power of his love like we wished our mothers could make it alright.  My grandmother made it alright. I was safe for as long as she lived.

I have reached  Number Two in Google under Christian Psychics .I am not saying this to brag.  If you have read my articles, you know my struggles .I write this article because I was attacked by someone today and that got me thinking  about how I got to be Number Two and what I learned about life and about myself. I thought it might be meaningful to someone.

I think the biggest factor that got me here was the commitment to  honesty. Don’t lessen the truth to make it easier to swallow. There is little truth in today’s society. Most of it is pablum, accented by political correctness. I vowed to speak the truth in my articles and with my clients. I am fine if someone walks away from me. I am not fine if I compromise.

Another factor is being willing to not need everyone to like me.  This includes not needing everyone to like how I do Astrology. I would rather be authentic and liked by a few than sell myself and be liked by many.

I made the commitment to serve people. People can feel when you want to serve them. That is rare in this day of fast food and fast everything.

I am not ego invested in success. Second to serving God, which I try to put first, I want to be someone who is true to herself. I want to be an authentic person. I want to touch people and make a difference in people’s lives.  These  goals define me.

You would be surprised how much potential is lost because you think you have to be nice.    Today, my voice teacher, who is studying to be a lawyer, told me something interesting about witnesses on the stand. If they have a strong voice, the lawyer won’t try to  intimidate them. If they have a weak voice, they can be broken down. When they lose it and start yelling, they are not a credible witness, anymore.

I made a video to put on here and I can’t stand to look at it because I have a baby pee-wee voice.  Your actual voice looses strength when you shut down your primal power.  I have to liberate a wild animal and it is not in the zoo, unless you consider that I have a zoo inside.

In my home, being refined was valued to the point that you were all head and no body.  We may as well have descended from the Puritans, on the Jewish side. One does not just lose one’s voice. One loses one’s power. One may lose one’s health. It is not easy holding down a wild beast. Holding him down, day by day, takes it’s toll.

I came to several conclusions about being nice. I wish I had learned these earlier. Nice is a concept for fools. Nice guys do finish last and that goes for nice girls, too. Let me begin my story at the beginning. I started my journey to find my voice four years ago.There is no way you can find your voice and look good at the same time.

There is no way you can find your voice and be liked by everyone.  You must want your voice more than most anything, in order to find it, in my opinion. Once you find it, you can be quiet.  Until that point, you make the clamor of an ungodly fire engine.

What does it look like to have your voice, in practical terms? You can be honest. You can say what you feel. You will be hated but you will be loved. When you are loved, you will be loved for the very things that many people hate you for. That love will nourish you because it is love for who you are because you had the courage  to show it.

There was a little chart on FB that summed up the thrust of each person’s Sun Sign. I will find it for you.  One of my most beloved clients is the English professor I tell you about. She is a Gemini like I am. We talked last night and we talked about the subject of this article–the Gemini passion to be  heard. If there was a Twilight Zone episode and a Gemini was stuck in hell, the hell would be the Gemini talking and no one understanding.

We all know the typical Sun Sign info for each sign. However, this chart summed it up just right. People seemed to be taken aback. Each sign had a short phrase that seemed exactly right.

I am known for Asteroid picks.  Some people get angry and defensive. Others want to learn how on the earth I picked their Asteroid out of thin air. I will give a trade secret

This topic hit me this morning because I was thinking of someone with a lot of pride. Lucifer is spiritual pride. There are many forms of pride. The Asteroids are very specific. I can pick Lucifer in people. This person may ask for advice, but will argue with you when you give it.

Lucifer is a kind of fake piety. The person will usually present a problem where she looks like the victim. However, in actuality, she is victimizing others. If you dare to show her her face, she will get enraged. Sparks will fly. If I see all of the above, I will make an Asteroid pick of Lucifer. I have, always, been right.

Let’s talk about Lucifer’s story. One must go back to the original stories to understand any Asteroid. The problem is that the original story may be very complicated. The main character may do a number of diverse things like die, be reborn, marry, kill his children, kill his wife and turn from a mortal into a god. This is why Asteroids are hard. The Astrologer must hone down one theme. That one theme must be practical enough to use in charts. In my opinion, if Asteroids are so abstruse that no one can apply them, what is the point. I differ with many Astrologers on this. My code is practical, practical, practical.

Back to Lucifer. Lucifer’s story is simple. It is not many layered. These  simple Asteroids are much easier to use.Lucifer would not bend his knee to God. Lucifer wanted to be God. That is the Lucifer story in a nutshell. To fill in the details, Lucifer had lots of gifts. He was very, very beautiful. He was very talented. It was thought that Lucifer was created with musical pipes as part of his body. He was the most magnificent creature on the earth. The story tells us that Lucifer was lifted up with pride because of his beauty. Lucifer was second only to God in his magnificence. However, second was not first. Lucifer wanted to be first. Lucifer led a rebellion of angels. They were cast out of Heaven by God.Lucifer is responsible for corrupting Adam, which led to the fall of man and the curse on the earth.

That is the story of Lucifer. Now, we need to take out the nuggets and make it practical. the person with a strong Lucifer will not take advice. They will present you with a sob story. However, when you get to their part in it, they get angry. This one fact will start to alert you to Lucifer. As you go on with your talk, the person will try to convince you that THEY are the angel, surrounded by devils. In other words, it is everyone else fault. This is the second indication that it is Lucifer. The third will be that they will not face their part in any of it.  By that point, you have probably severed the relationship. However, you can look back and make an Asteroid pick.

Often, the people with a prominent Lucifer will be beautiful or talented in the way of Lucifer. I have not seen enough of the Lucifer asteroid to call this a fact but it is a working theory. However, they did not use their talents in the right way. They used them for ego. Hence, they fell, just as did Lucifer.

I recently called an Echo pick on a person who is as clueless about herself as is……. I don’t know an analogy, but clueless. She got very angry, but  I was right. There was Echo smack dab in the middle of her chart. She asked me to explain what Echo would mean to her. How could I explain self introspection to a clueless person? This is one of the things one has to deal with. Most people who study Astrology are willing to look at themselves, but you will find the few who are not. I do not argue.

How did I pick Echo for her? How do I pick Echo in people. Echo is a super codependent. If a person seems totally fixated on relationships as the panacea for everything, I will start to think there is a strong Echo. However, most people are codependent, so there is more. Echo will usually parrot the opinions of others but be very arrogant, at the same time.  It is kind of an egomaniac with an inferiority complex.

The story of Echo is one of voicelessness. Echo’s story is quite easy to understand. Echo thought she needed Narcissus’ love to be an authentic  person. Echo thought the key to HER sense of identity was the love of Narcissus. Narcissus was in love with himself. When we say this, we do not mean a healthy form of self love. We mean a one sided love that was a prison. People think the narcissist is happy but he is not. He cannot find himself in that pool of water. He is forever looking. That is his myth.

For now, we are looking at Echo. Echo cannot speak from her own heart. She can mirror, only. This is her prison and one from which she never escapes. Fortunately for us, we can escape. The person with a strong Echo must endeavor to find her voice, no matter the cost. I have Echo conjunct Saturn. Saturn makes obsessive what it touches. Hence, I am obsessed with finding my voice, as comes as no surprise to the people who read what I write.

I started my Asteroid picks with Eris. People would get very angry when I would make an Asteroid pick for them and it would turn out to be Eris.   See the face of that dolphin. He looks like he could be up to mischief. He looks like he could play a practical joke on someone like put plastic wrap over the toilet seat. This would be V-E-R-Y annoying. The kind of feeling one would have as one sat down on the toilet would be the feeling that Eris evokes. Sorry to use a bathroom reference. I am not a Venus in Libra, after all.

The best way I can explain Eris to you is to use Steve Urkel. Urkel is the mover and shaker of Eris. He vibed Eris like no one’s business.  Let’s make Eris practical. The person with a strong Eris will have the quality of trying to pick fights. Then, the person may exit the fight and sit on the sidelines laughing. The Eris person will have a strange adherence to causes, too. This person will jump in where angels fear to tread. This can be good but with the Eris person, it is usually more of the same impotent flailing. If they get into a cause, they will probably bring down more trouble on an organization than help.

I saw a funny synastry with Eris conjunct the NN. They, indeed, did annoy the heck out of each other. Each person had a strong Eris in his natal, so maybe they were used to this vibe. I can’t stand it myself. I can pick it up when I feel the same annoyance I feel at a mosquito.  Eris is not downright mean. He is like a toddler who keeps asking you for the bar of candy near the check out. He whines. He begs. He squirms. If you are a bad mother, you give it to him to shut him up. Remember this and you will be on your way to your own Asteroid picks with Eris, front and center.
